Why You Need a Blog Now! Don’t Wait

You have a website, but it is lacking something. You need a blog now. There are many reasons Small- to Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs) should consider adding a blog to your website if you do not already have one.

Yes, You Need a Blog – Now!

Don’t let this opportunity go away!

What Is a Blog?

According to Simple English Wikipedia, A blog, also known as a weblog, is a website that is like a diary or journal. Most people can create a blog and then write on that blog. Bloggers (a word for people who write on blogs) often write about their opinions and thoughts. A blog containing video material is called a video blog or video log, usually shortened to vlog[1].

When a person writes on a blog, what they write is in the form of a post, which is a single piece of writing on the blog. Posts often include links to other websites.

Why You Need a Blog Now

There are multiple reasons that a Small- to Medium-sized business (SMB) cannot afford to have a weblog. Where would you like to start? I am going to include my must-have reasons under their own separate categories.

Before I do, however, I want you to review this post on 7 Tips on How Your Business Can Be Successful. I should have added you need a blog now to this list.

Recognition

You need a website blog so that people will recognize you when you publish those golden words of wisdom to your clients, customers or potential purchasers. Being recognized means that your best articles and posts are online and visible. This in turn means that you are going to be more widely recognized as a content expert.

Did I mention marketing?

Marketing Efforts Are Boosted

Your marketing efforts are rewarded with conversions gained from your blog. What do I mean by your marketing efforts? The next paragraph will cover the types of marketing that will be boosted.

Social Media – To begin with, your blog content can be repurposed into your social media sites, especially Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. There are probably even more social media sites out there that I am not mentioning. The bottom line is that blogging is like dangling a carrot in front of your readers. They are going to want to read more. They are going to want to share and talk about your brand.

Email Marketing – First, having a blog allows you to regularly send out newsletters or create email promotions. Did I mention that you can highlight specific features in your weblog posts to your audience? This reinforces that you know what you are talking about and they look on you as an expert.

Second, you need a blog now to encourage those new readers to become your new subscribers. It is not unusual for new subscribers to be watching your blog for new content that will solve their problems or needs. Do not miss out on this opportunity.

Advertising

The first thing to remember is that blog marketing opens up so many doors to new advertising options. According to an earlier article we did about the profitable options for content marketing, your blog is your gateway into successful advertising. As an illustration, here are just four ways that you can use to present an idea to your audience and then convince them to follow through on an action.

  • Banners
  • Popups
  • Mobile Marketing
  • Video Marketing

Speak Up About Business Activities

Readers want to know. What is your company doing? Are there new products or services you have implemented? What accomplishments have you brought to the table like awards, and community activities (all great press releases material by the way)? Speak up and keep them informed.

Let us see. What is next in our investigation of why you need a blog now for your company?

Relationship Building

Having a weblog is your opportunity to build a relationship with your audience. What? How? The first place to use is the comment section that you can include on every post you do. Interact with them. If your readers ask a question, take the time to answer it. Let them know you care that they took the time to look to you for your advice. Your readers can actually provide you with a wealth of information that you can use for future FAQs or new topics.
